OBJECT OF THE GAME:

To score the highest score possible.

This particular version of YAHTZEE allows up to TWO players to play during a
single session. After the game is over, the winner of the game will be placed in
a data file that contains the TOP TEN SCORES, IF his score is higher than the
lowest score in the list. (This gives the players something to 'shoot for')

ABOUT COMPUTER YAHTZEE

There is no rolling of the Di to see who goes first. The player who enters his
name first will be the first player to roll the Di.

After each roll of the Di, a list of possible scoring positions will be listed, if
there are any. This will help the player in his decision on whether to roll again
or choose to score in a particular position.

Each player will be given up to 3 rolls of the Di to make a 'good' score. After
the last roll, the player MUST enter a score even if there are no possible
scores listed. In this case the score entered will be ZERO.

POSSIBLE SCORES

The scoring positions are marked as; (A)Aces, (B)Twos, (C)Threes, (D)Fours,
(E)Fives, (F)Sixes, (G)3 of a Kind, (H)4 of a Kind, (I)Full House, (J)Small
Straight, (K)Large Straight, (L)YAHTZEE, and (M)Chance.

For positions A through F, the possible score will be the total of all Di of the
same kind. For example; If you rolled 2 Two's and one 5, the score for the
(B)Twos would be 4 and 5 for the (E)Fives.

For the position of 3 of a Kind, the possible score will be the total of Di,
provided that AT LEAST three of the Di are the same.

For the position of 4 of a Kind, the possible score will be the total of Di,
provided that AT LEAST four of the Di are the same.

For the position of FULL HOUSE, the possible score will be 25, provided that
AT LEAST three of the Di are the same and the remaining two Di are the
same.

For the position of Small Straight, the possible score will be 30 points, provided
that FOUR of the Di are in sequence.

For the position of Large Straight, the possible score will be 40 points,
provided that ALL Di are in sequence.

For the position of YAHTZEE, the possible score will be 50 points, provided
that ALL Di are the same. There are other possibilities for YAHTZEE scoring.
See them below.

For the position of Chance, the possible score will be the total of the Dice.

In addition to the scoring possibilities described above, a player may earn
BONUS points if the total score of the TOP SIX POSITIONS total 63 or more.
To help keep track of the BONUS status a position on the playing board
indicates this status. Once a BONUS is earned, 35 points will be added to the
players total score.

NOTE that once a position has been scored, it may not be scored again.

CASE OF THE SECOND or MORE YAHTZEE (how lucky)

In the event a player scores a second or third... YAHTZEE the scoring becomes
more interesting. IF the first YAHTZEE score was scored under (L)YAHTZEE
then the player will be given a BONUS of 100 extra points in addition to the
score indicated by the position he selects to score. IF the player scored a
ZERO in the (L)YAHTZEE position then NO BONUS points will be given.

In the event a second or third YAHTZEE is thrown, and the (L)YAHTZEE
position is filled, the player MUST first choose the appropriate upper level(top
6 six positions) scoring position. For example; if the YAHTZEE consisted of five
4's, the player MUST score the second/third YAHTZEE in the fours position.
The player would score the total of the Dice AND receive a bonus of 100
points. In this event the scoring for the YAHTZEE is; 3 of a Kind, 4 of a Kind
or Chance=total of the Dice, FULL HOUSE=25 points, Small Straight=30 points,
and Large Straight=40 points. IF all positions in the Lower Level are filled, the
player MUST choose to score a ZERO in an upper level position. However, the
player may still get the 100 point bonus.

HOW TO ROLL & SCORE

The first player's name will be displayed and a chart indicating the round and
roll of the player will be displayed. There are 13 rounds(there are 13 possible
scoring positions)

Under the Di that are rolled is a marker that indicates the active Di. To move
the marker, press either the LEFT or RIGHT arrow key. To mark the Di to be
re-rolled, press the Del key and the Di will be marked. In the event you decide
that you do not want to re-roll a Di, move the marker to the Di and press Del
again and the Di will re-appear. To roll all Di, as a short cut, the player may
press the Ins key in which case all Di will be marked.

To re-roll the marked Di, press the ENTER key.

The player may score in a position at anytime by pressing the appropriate
letter. The letters indicate the scoring positions are located on the left side of
the playing screen. In the event the player gets Beeped when he scores or
during the movement of the marker, the player is being informed that the move
is not acceptable.

If the player decides that he wants to stop the game, he may press the End
key when waiting to move the Di marker. In this case, no score is recorded.

WHEN THE GAME IS OVER

After 13 rounds, the high scorer is determined(of course if there is only
one player he is the winner). The winner's score is compared to the scores
of the TOP TEN and placed in the list if the player's score is higher than the
lowest Top Ten score.

JUST IN CASE

Just in case the Boss shows up, the player can press the Home key to quickly
switch screens. After he goes, the player presses Home again to resume the
game and victory.

THAT'S ALL....
