Welcom to ULTIMATE PINBALL 

Installation Instructions 
 
If you are running Windows, please exit by pressing Alt-F4 and clicking on 
OK. 

1. Insert the Ultimate Pinball CD into your CD-ROM tray. 

2. At the DOS prompt, switch to the CD-ROM drive by typing the drive letter 
   followed by a colon (ie. "D:") and then hit Enter. 

3. Type "install" and hit Enter. 
   You will now be asked to enter the preferred target directory you wish
   Ultimate Pinball to be installed into. If the default C:\GAMES\TWG\PINBALL
   is fine, press Enter. 

4. You be asked a set of questions to determine the proper sound
   configuration for your computer.  It is recommended that you select "Y"
   when you are asked if you wish to Auto-Detect for the presence of a
   SoundBlaster. 
   Note:  The Gravis UltraSound Max is not compatible with Ultimate Pinball.  
   If you are using this sound card, it is recommended that when you select
   "No digital sound card" in the Sound Capabilities menu and "IBM Internal
   Speaker" in the Midi Driver Selection Menu. 

To play Ultimate Pinball after installation, Make sure the CD is in your 
CD-ROM drive, then type:

1. "CD\" and hit Enter.

2. "Pinball" and hit Enter. 
 
Important Note:
  The Ultimate Pinball CD-ROM must be in your CD-ROM drive in order to play.

Installation For Win95 Users: 
 
Click on your Start Menu, select Settings, select Control Panel, select 
Add/Remove Programs, click on Install, then your machine will search for the 
Install program on your floppy and CD-ROM drives. From here on out you'll 
follow the easy prompts given by the installation program on your monitor. 
To run this program, you'll need to exit to DOS each time by clicking on 
your Start Menu, selecting Shut Down, selecting Restart Computer in MS-DOS 
mode, then following the above instructions for starting the game after
installation. To return to Win95 after ending your game, type EXIT, and 
hit Enter. 
 
General Troubleshooting 
 
If errors occur during installation, follow the steps given below. 
 
"File not found - Pintemp.tmp\sounddrv.com"   
Exit the installation program. 
Type "cd\" and hit "Enter". 
Type "edit config.sys" and hit "Enter" 
Find the line with "Files =" and make sure that the number after the = sign is 
at least 10, ie. 
		Files=10 

Hit Alt-F and then hit "S" to save the configuration. 
Hit Alt-F and then hit "X" to exit the edit program. 
Run the installation program. 
 
Not enough or low memory warnings. 
Exit all programs. 
Type "cd\" and hit "Enter". 
Type "edit autoexec.bat" and hit "Enter". 
Find the line that contains "C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE" and add "REM " to 
the beginning of the line, ie so that it reads "REM 
C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE". 
Hit Alt-F and then hit "S" to the save the file. 
Hit Alt-F and then hit "X" to exit the edit program. 
Run the installation program. 
If memory warnings still occur, run Memmaker by typing "memmaker" at the 
DOS prompt(here you'll follow the instructions for Typical Installation.

Rules 
 
Wild West 
 
1.      Skill Shot - For the first 10 seconds after a ball is fired from the 
plunger, one of the "SUN" lights will flash.  If you roll the ball over this
light, before getting any other letter, you'll receive: 
 
1 Million       1st time 
2 Million       2nd consecutive time 
3 Million       3rd  consecutive time 
4 Million       4th consecutive time 
5 Million       5th consecutive time and every consecutive time after. 
 
If a Skill Shot is missed, the next Skill Shot bonus results in 1 Million 
points. 
 
2.      Bonus Multiplier - Each time all three of the "SUN" lights are lit,
the Bonus Multiplier increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5
Million, up to 5 Million.  The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. 
 
Light all 3 of the top right targets and then shoot the ball into the Indian's
head to activate Kickback and light a "DANCE" letter. The first time, you get
1 Million, the second time, 2 Million, up to 5 Million.  Light all of the
"DANCE" letters and open Skill Shot for 45 seconds.  Score 1 Million points
for each letter hit. 
 
Hitting all 3 targets on the center bumper activates the Ball Lock.  Locking
3 balls results in Multi-Ball.  Going for a Jackpot in the Video Mode hole 
will give you 5 Million. 
 
To get any of the Specials, shoot all 6 of the round targets near the bottom
of the table. 
 
1st Special     Super Loops - score 1 Million for the 1st loop, 2 Million for 
		the 2nd consecutive loop, up to 5 Million. 
2nd Special     Superjets - all jets score 1 Million. 
3rd Special     Video Mode - Shoot the ball into the Video Mode hole to 
		play the Mini-Game. 
4th Specials    Freak Out - Do all of the above and get an Extra Ball. 
 
All Specials get a 2 ball Multi-Ball and light the Capture Ball. 
 
When lit, the Capture Ball scores 5 Million when hit. 
 
Mini-Game 
 
Use the left and right flipper buttons to aim the gun left or right, and the
Space bar to shoot.  Hit the cans when they're up. 
 
Pharaohs 
 
1.      Skill Shot - For the first 10 seconds after a ball is fired from the 
plunger, one of the "EYE" lights will flash.  If you roll the ball over this
light, before getting any other letter, you get: 
 
1 Million       1st time 
2 Million       2nd consecutive time 
3 Million       3rd  consecutive time 
4 Million       4th consecutive time 
5 Million       5th consecutive time and every consecutive time after. 
 
If a Skill Shot is missed, the next Skill Shot bonus results in 1 Million. 
 
2.      Bonus Multiplier - Each time all 3 of the "EYE" lights are lit, the 
Bonus Multiplier increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5 
Million, up to 5 Million.  The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. 
 
Consecutive Loop Bonus - If the ball is shot through the same loop within 10 
seconds, you get the following: 
	 
	1 Million       1st time 
	2 Million       2nd times 
	3 Million       3rd times 
	4 Million       4th times 
	5 Million       5th or more times 
 
"PHARAOHS" lights - When all of the "PHARAOHS" lights are lit, the 
Jackpot becomes available. 
 
	"P" lights when all of the "EYE" letters are lit. 
	"H" lights when the ball is shot up the Horus ramp 
	"A" lights when the ball is shot up the Anubis ramp 
	"R" lights when the ball goes into the Skill Shot hole. 
	"A" lights when the ball is shot up the Thoth ramp 
	"O" lights when the ball is shot up the Kickback ramp 
	"H" lights when the ball is shot up the Horus ramp 
	"S" lights when the ball goes down the left side lane when Kickback is 
	    activated 
 
The Anubis Ramp in conjunction with a Skill Shot gives the Randomizer.  The 
7 Random Choices are: 
 
1 Million 
Tomb Time - All loops give 1 -5 Million 
5 Million 
Mummy's Curse 
Ball Lock activated 
Extra Ball given 
Mini-Game 
 
Hitting all 3 targets in front of the Ball Lock opens it.  3 balls locked 
results in Multi-ball.  Mini-Game activates on second ball locked. 
 
Light Targets (middle-right set) - These reset the other "3 Target Sets).  
Hitting all 3 Light Targets opens the Skill Shot hole.  Getting one of these
Skill Shots results in 1 Million. 
 
"3 Target " Sets - Hit all 3 targets in each set in order to light the arrows
to the appropriate ramps. 
 
Kickback resets the "3 Target" sets if all of the targets in a set are down. 
 
If all 3 targets in a "3 Target" set are down, Kickback is activated. 
 
Mini-Game 
 
Move left or right with the flipper buttons and use the Space bar to jump.  
Avoid holes and collet power-ups. 
 
 
 
Pirates 
 
Bonus Multiplier - Each time all 3 of the "1-2-3" lights are lit, the Bonus 
Multiplier increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5 Million,
up to 5 Million.  The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. 
 
Hitting all of the "KILL" targets results in a "PIRATES" light and gives the 
following: 
 
	"P"             50,000 
	"I"             100,000 
	"R"             150,000 and the Mini-Game 
	"A"             200,000 
	"T"             250,000 
	"E"             300,000 and the Mini-Game 
	"S"             Extra Ball becomes available and the Mini-Game 
 
	Once all of the "PIRATES" lights are lit, go for the Extra Ball by 
shooting the ball up the middle "horizontal" loop. 
 
When all of the "GOLD" targets are hit, for a limited amount of time hitting 
the Super Jets will give a bonus.  The lights must be lit 3 times before
getting Super Jets. 
 
Getting the ball in the top right hole and through both loops gives a "SKULL 
ISLAND" letter.  Once all of the "SKULL ISLAND" letters have been lit, the 
Jackpot is available by getting the ball into the top right hole. 
 
Multi-ball - Balls are locked by hitting the left and right bottom targets and
then shooting the ball up the vertical loop.  Locking 3 balls results in 
Multi-ball. 
 
Mini-Game 
 
The left flipper button raises the cannon and the right flipper button lowers
it. Use the Space bar to fire.  Hitting enough ships results in an Extra Ball. 
 
 
Luna Babe 
 
1.      Skill Shot - For the first 10 seconds after a ball is fired from the 
plunger, one of the "UFO" lights will be lit.  If you roll the ball over this
light, before getting any other letter, you get: 
 
	1 Million       1st time 
	2 Million       2nd consecutive time 
	3 Million       3rd  consecutive time 
	4 Million       4th consecutive time 
	5 Million       5th consecutive time and every consecutive time 
			after. 
 
If a Skill Shot is missed, the next Skill Shot bonus results in 1 Million. 
 
2.      Bonus Multiplier - Each time all 3 of the "UFO" lights are lit, the 
Bonus Multiplier increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5 
Million, up to 5 Million.  The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. 
 
3.      Multi-ball - 3 center targets in front of the Ball Lock opens it and 
locking 3 balls results in Multi-ball. 
 
4.      The 3 round planet targets to the right of the Ball Lock set up a 
Moonshot.  After getting 4 Moonshots, you get to go for a "LUNA"letter.  
Also, getting enough Moonshots allows you to go for an Extra Ball. 
 
5.      Lighting the 3 targets to the right of the Ball Lock and then getting
a Kickback lights a "BABE" letter.  Doing this after all of the "BABE"
letters are lit results in an Extra Ball. 
 
6.      Lighting the bottom 3 targets (2 on the left, 1 on the right) and then
going through the bottom loop gives COSMIC the first time, HYPERSPACE the 
second time, and then 5 Million. 
 
7.      Achieving items 4, 5, and 6 allows you to go for a Jackpot.  The 
Jackpot is in the top left lock. 
 
8.      Consecutive loops in the top right loop allows you to play the Mini-
Game, get a "LUNA" letter by getting a Moonshot, or get a "BABE" letter by 
getting Kickback. 
 
Mini-Game 
 
Move left or right with the flipper buttons and use the Space Bar to shoot 
aliens.  The more you shoot, the more you score.  Shoot enough aliens and win 
an Extra Ball. 
 
 
Frankenstein 
 
Consecutive Loop Bonus - Shooting the ball up the same loop gives the
following bonus: 
 
	1st Loop        NERVES/AMPS/VOLTS/SCREAMS 
	2nd Loop        1 Million 
	3rd Loop        2 Million 
	4th Loop        3 Million 
	5th Loop        4 Million 
	6th Loop        5 Million 
 
All loops done results in the following (The big loop counts twice, once for 
each direction.): 
 
	Once    Kickback activated 
	Twice   2 ball Multi-Ball 
	Three Times     3 ball Multi-Ball 
 
Hitting the trapped ball into the target results in the following: 
 
	1-2 times       1 Million 
	3 times Mini-Game 
 
Bonus Multiplier - Each time all 3 Skull targets are hit, the Bonus Multiplier 
increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5 Million, up to 5
Million. The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. The Skull Targets
also increase the score for the loops 
 
Hitting all of the Bone targets gives a "FRANKENSTEIN" letter and also give 
Superjets.  After Superjets, shoot for the heart to get a 2 ball Multi-Ball.
After this, shoot for the brain to get another 2 ball Multi-Ball, or a 3 ball
Multi-Ball if the previous was not lost.
 
When all 3 Grave Stone targets are hit, the Ball Lock opens.  Locking 3 balls
results in Multi-Ball. 
 
Mini-Game 
 
Run with the left flipper button and stop with the right flipper button. Jump 
with the Space bar.  The further you get, the higher your score. 
	 
 
Goal 
 
Skill Shot - For the first 10 seconds after a ball is fired from the plunger,
one of the "FOOT" lights will flash.  If you roll the ball over this light,
before getting any other letter, you get: 
 
1 Million       1st time 
2 Million       2nd consecutive time 
3 Million       3rd  consecutive time 
4 Million       4th consecutive time 
5 Million       5th consecutive time and every consecutive time after. 
 
If a Skill Shot is missed, the next Skill Shot bonus results in 1 Million. 
 
Lighting all of the "BALL" lights gives the following: 
 
	1st time        10,000 and 1 Million for shooting the ball up the ramp 
			leading to the "FOOT" lights 
	2nd time        20,000 and 2 Million for shooting the ball up the ramp
			leading to the "FOOT" lights 
	3rd time        50,000 and 3 Million for shooting the ball up the ramp
			leading to the "FOOT" lights 
	4th time        100,000 and 4 Million for shooting the ball up the ramp
			leading to the "FOOT" lights 
	5th time        250,000 and 5 Million for shooting the ball up the ramp
			leading to the "FOOT" lights 
 
Lighting all of the "FOUL" lights awards: 
 
1st time        Ball Lock when the ball is fired into the Penalty Hole. 
2nd time        Ball Lock when the ball is fired into the Penalty Hole. A 2nd
		Ball Lock activates the Mini-Game. 
3rd time        Multi-ball when the ball is fired into the Penalty Hole. 
4th time        Yellow Card and 1 Million. 
5th time        Red Card and 1 Million. 
 
Lighting all of the "SHOOT" lights gives a Bonus when the Super Jets are hit. 
 
Lighting any 3 of the "SHOOT" lights gives a "Hat-Trick" bonus. 
 
Shooting the ball up the "Long Shoot" ramp results in "Kickback Activated". 
 
Lighting all of the "CRAZY" letters 
 
Bonus Multiplier - Each time all "FOOT" lights are lit, the Bonus Multiplier 
increases by 1 (from 2 - 9).  After 9 times, you get 1-5 Million, up to 5
Million. The multiplier measures your end-of-ball bonus. 
 
Lighting all of the "GOAL" lights gives: 
 
1st time        3 Million 
2nd time        500,000 and a chance to win an Extra Ball 
3rd time        5 Million 
4th time        500,000 and an Extra Ball 
5th time        2.5 Million and a chance to win a 10 Million Jackpot. 
 
 
Mini-Game 
 
Shoot left or right with the Flipper buttons.  Aim at the opposite corner of
the goalkeeper.  Shoot three times, and win an Extra Ball for a Hat-trick.
